Students are insured through the Royal & Sun Alliance Cost to students £20.00 p.a. (pro-rata) Once you have decided to join our Club and have taken either your 2 free lessons as a beginner or your 1 free lesson for those already training you will need to take up a Club Licence and Insurance Policy. As already mentioned on our "How to Join" page we at the Shotokan Karate School would like to make things as simple and as clear as possible for those who wish to join. Therefore, for students who currently train, the Club will honour any existing Insurance Policy that a student may have by simply transferring the policy at no cost, to the policy that we offer our students. The transferred Insurance will then expire at the same time as their existing policy. At this time the pro-rata system that we run at the club will mean that the new policy, that will need to be paid for, will be based on the number of days left to run for our Insurance year end which is the 30th June each year. The same principle is used for Beginner students of the Club. Once you have taken your 2 free lessons you will need to take up a Club Licence and Insurance Policy and the cost will be reflected by the number of days left until the Insurance year end which, as already stated, is 30th June annually.
