HOW TO JOIN - Clothing.... Clothing Beginners do not need to have a Gi (Karate Uniform) to train, loose clothing, tracksuit bottoms and a tee-shirt are good enough to start with. The only time that you will be required as a beginner to wear a Gi is as of the first time you attend a Grading (test) to attempt your first belt. We do not expect our students to buy the Gi that the Club sells. Students are free to obtain their clothing from wherever they wish. The Gi that we sell cost £20.00 and are 100% cotton, although you will find less expensive gi from most of the large sports shops.
